"Pricing wasn’t clear from the start"
I gave 2 stars because the actual service was fine, but the pricing part was frustrating. The first quote sounded reasonable, then later on there were extra fees and changes I wasn’t expecting. I also felt like I was getting passed around a bit when I asked questions, and I had to follow up more than once just to understand what I was really paying for. It wasn’t the worst experience, but I definitely wish they had been more upfront from the beginning.

I was relieved that 1800packrat serviced my area, because I live a little outside the main city and a couple other places either said no or had random limits that didn’t really make sense. Their pickup and drop-off coverage both worked for me, which made the whole move feel a lot less stressful. I don’t know if anyone else has dealt with that same issue living just outside town, but this ended up being a smooth experience for me with no major problems

"Claim took a little time, but it worked out"
I had to file a claim after one of my storage bins ended up cracked during the move. The online form was straightforward, though they did ask me to send a few extra photos, and it took a couple days between replies.
In the end, they approved the claim and paid the amount they said they would. It wasn’t the fastest process, but it felt fair overall. I’d probably use them again, just with the expectation that claims might take a bit.

"Refund Process Kept Changing"
I did get my refund eventually, but it took way longer than it should have. Every time I checked in, it felt like the timeline or requirements had changed, like they kept moving the goalposts. Glad it’s finally sorted, but the process was frustrating.

I was bracing myself for the quote to creep up, because that seems to happen with moving stuff, but it didn’t. The number they gave me online was the exact number that showed up on the bill, right down to the dollar.
I even checked the line items a couple times because I’m the type of person who notices weird little fees, service charges, or tiny add-ons tucked at the bottom. There just weren’t any surprise charges or last-minute “oh by the way” costs, which was a huge relief.
The whole process was straightforward, but the accurate quote is what stood out to me most. It made everything feel a lot less stressful when I didn’t have to keep wondering what the final total would actually be

The price seemed okay at first, and I would say it is a decent value overall. That said, the extra fees felt a little high to me, so it was not quite as good of a deal as I expected.

"They put it exactly where I wanted"
I had a good experience with 1-800-PACK-RAT. I feel like these things always end up getting dropped in the most inconvenient spot possible, so I was a little worried about where the container would land on my driveway.
The driver actually took his time lining it up and put it right where I asked. He even made sure my garage still had enough room to open, which sounds small, but when you’re moving, every little thing is usually a hassle, so that helped a lot.

I got the container last week and was happy with it right away. It was clean, solid, and didn’t have any leaks or strange smells. After using it for a few days, it still seems to be in really good condition.

"Pickup was right on time"
The driver showed up right when they said they would, so I didn’t have to sit around waiting all day. Everything went smoothly overall. my only gripe is the timing window was a little too wide, and of course it landed right in the middle of a busy part of my day. Bad timing on my end, I guess.

"Scheduling was okay, but a bit frustrating"
They did have some flexible dates, which was helpful, but changing my appointment ended up taking a few calls. I also felt like nobody really read my message because I had to explain the same thing more than once. Not terrible overall, just kind of annoying.

I used 1-800-PACK-RAT for a long-distance move, the pickup part went smoothly. But the transit timing? That was a little frustrating. I never felt like I had a clear idea of when my container would actually arrive, and it ended up showing up later than I had planned. Nothing was damaged, which was definitely a relief, because who wants to deal with broken stuff on top of moving stress? I just wish the updates had been clearer along the way

I used 1-800-PACK-RAT for a recent move, it was mostly fine. The container arrived in good condition, and everything inside made it safely, which was the main thing I cared about.
The timing was where things got a little frustrating. Pickup and delivery weren’t exactly on schedule, and I ended up having to call a couple times to figure out what was happening. Anyway, it wasn’t a total mess or anything, just a bit more follow-up than I expected.
Customer service was nice enough when I talked to them, but the answers weren’t always super clear. I’d probably consider using them again, but only if I had some wiggle room in my schedule.

I had a question about my delivery and customer service got back to me quickly, which I appreciated. They sorted it out right away and didn’t give me the runaround. Still, it’s kind of annoying that I had to put in the effort to contact them in the first place, but at least once I did, they made it easy.
